
DIL San Diego hosted a splendid gala dinner on September 15 entitled “A Night in the Provinces.” The event showcased dances from all the provinces in Pakistan. DIL’s young talented junior supporters were attired in authentic costumes and performed regional dances. The audience greatly enjoyed the dance acts.

On display were handicrafts from the different provinces. DIL CEO Fiza Shah attended the gala and presented on DIL’s current programs which were shown through videos of those affected by the work DIL is doing and its impact on the lives of the people it serves.

Huma Ahmed–Ghosh, Chair of the Women’s Studies Department at San Diego State University, gave a talk on women and the importance of literacy. Arshad Ali, a local singer, provided the musical entertainment.

It was a successful and enjoyable evening and the Master of Ceremonies, Dr. Sahar Taqui, so enthused and impressed the crowd that they contributed toward the support of 101 children!
