Dear Friend of DIL,
In its continued mission to eradicate illiteracy and poverty in underdeveloped areas of Pakistan, DIL Trust UK would be delighted to have you join us on what promises to be a journey of a life time to the Everest Base Camp. The trek is being led and managed by the Mountain Company (www.themountaincompany.co.uk), a long established adventure travel company that specialises in organising small group treks and expeditions.

This breathtaking trek will take us past ancient Buddhist temples, into the Patan Durbar square known for its Newari architecture through some of the most picturesque villages in the heart of Nepal’s Sherpa country, to the Namche Bazaar valley. The trek continues high above the clouds meandering past the Dudh Khosi River through the rhododendron forest and on to Kala Patthar with spectacular views of Mt. Everest. At 5500 meters, it presents a unique opportunity to explore the outstanding beauty of the Annapurna region, culminating at the Everest Base Camp.

This journey of a lifetime aims to reiterate DIL Trust UK’s pursuit of empowering girls through education in the most poverty stricken areas of Pakistan and launch its vocational training initiative in Pakistan as well as in the UK for underprivileged women in multi-ethnic communities.

To participate in this trek, we will ask you to raise a minimum sponsorship of £2500. All funds raised by the event will go towards the running of our 21 Schools and vocational training in the squatter settlements of Orangi - Karachi, Pakistan, including the teacher training centre, through which we continually improve the quality of education in our schools.

A confirmation will be sent upon receipt of the completed registration form and a non-refundable registration fee of £300 to secure your place in our trek group. We will then provide you with the necessary information to help you get started with raising the funds and preparing for the trek.

For further queries please contact Rubina K. Riaz: rubina@dil.org or Marjan Khanji: marjan@dil.org or visit our website: www.diltrustuk.org.uk

We hope that you will join us on this spectacular journey, as your ongoing support will help us to educate and empower 15,000 girls in our 150 schools.

Warm regards
