Hoopoe Books – Favorites Among Students

Home  /  DIL News Beat  /  Current Page

As observed last year when the first donated Hoopoe book was distributed in the schools, the students still instantly gravitate towards these books because of their attractive covers and brightly colored pictures. Here are some comments from the first batch of students who read the 2 titles (they are from DIL Paradise School, Orangi Town):

The Clever Boy and the Terrible, Dangerous Animal

Afreen Mushtaque (VII):  “I read the storybook called The Clever Boy and the Terrible, Dangerous Animal. It is a very interesting story. The funny part of this story was that the villagers were so cowardly, they were scared of watermelons.”

Noureen Ayoub (VI) and Atif Rasheed  (VI): “This story teaches that we should not be afraid of anything. We should be like the brave boy.”

Mehak  (VI):  “This story introduced the interesting sides of the human character in an amazing way.”

The Old Woman and the Eagle

Komal Saeed (VI): “We like this story because we learn from it. We must have knowledge so that no one can fool us.”

Ramzan (VI), Asma Rasheed (IV), Kiran Asif (V):  “We enjoyed this funny story and learned that we should have knowledge about everything. Also, we should not catch the birds; we should free them. We want to read more storybooks like this one.”
