“My name is Rimsha Jatt & I am 14 years old and a student of DIL-IRC Sojhro Model School of Sobhodero. When I was 4 years old, I attended private Kindergarten and I remember we had a comfortable life. Then everything changed – my younger brother became seriously ill. Doctors suggested an operation. Though my father was able to pay for it, he refused. My mother begged to save the life of their son. Instead, my father divorced her and simply got rid of us all, and we became shelter-less and alone.
We went to our grandmother’s home which was only protection for us. She was poor but she gave us place in her home but also in her heart. My mother and grandmother didn’t give up and started working; and even obtained a bank loan. After long struggle, my brother had the operation he needed and, by the Grace of God, recovered.
After that, my mother looked towards me and my grandmother took me at the DIL school. In my first week there, I forgot all the pains that our father had given to us. The head teacher of school was very caring and polite. All the other teachers were very cooperative and hardworking.
I worked very hard and my teachers helped me every step of the way. I have been topping my class every year. When I see my school, I see my bright future. I will continue my struggle and this way, I will serve my mother, grandmother and younger brother and will put all happiness in their laps.
Thank you Sojhro,
Rimsha”
