DIL San Diego was founded in 2002. Rubina Husain, Nusrat Rajput, Nasra Haroun, Nosheen Sultan, and Shaheen Ghaznavi have at various times served as president of the chapter, steering it through over two decades of fundraising. Their first event was held in 2003, and raised $20,000. In 2023, DIL San Diego achieved their goal of raising $60,000.
